Embroidery Workshop

  • Laine - made unique 74 Saint George's Road Brighton, England, BN2 1EF United Kingdom (map)

We've had our embroidered jackets out in the shop for quite a while now and lots of you are itching to learn to embroider for yourselves. Well now is your chance!

If you are a keen embroiderer already then pop along to the shop with whatever you want to embroider (or use the calico provided). The only rule is the fabric must not stretch i.e. no jersey, no knitwear, no lycra

We suggest denim because it is sturdy, pretty forgiving (and embroidery is a great way to give a new lease of life to your worn through jeans or jacket.)

If you’re a beginner (or would rather follow instructions) then no need to bring anything at all! We supply a kit for everyone to take away including needles, scissors, a hoop, embroidery floss and calico. Of course there’s also tea, coffee and homemade goodies!

This session will cover the basics: french knots, chain stitch, whipped running stitch, back stitch, split stitch and rosettes. All of our designs use just these stitches, so you'll be armed with all the knowledge you need to create your own masterpiece!

Our first few months of classes have proven so popular that we’ll be running these at least once a month from now on! To ensure everyone gets plenty of 'teaching time' space is limited to just 5 people per session. Booking early is brilliant, you can book online or in store. Hope to see you soon!
